One stable thing

I volunteer as much as I do (as much as I think I can) because it's the one stable decision I can make.

I help wonderful, handicapped individuals ride horses. I help youth raise money for their various extracurricular activities. I sell/tear/check tickets at various events. I clean up after children while maintaining their safety. I play with dogs for four hours. I clean kennels and cages. I supervise adoption visits, educating the potential new pet parents; hoping they take home an animal meant to be in their lives. I assist new college students in the transition to their new temporary life. I collect donations for various non profits.

I spend my free time making a difference in people lives. I put a smile on the face of the homeless simply by lending an ear.

I have planned my life to the best of my ability. Graduate school is marked as potential. I know the general field I want to be in. I have a plan. Nobody ever knows if that plan is going to work out.

I have had plans for the people in my life. We are always seemingly happy (friends, family, etc) until it all changes in the blink of an eye.

Volunteering is the one stable thing I have. I will always have something to give, no matter how little I have.
