Education at it's best

I went to the tattoo shop last nights with my sister and mother. My mom got a small tattoo and my sister got her eyebrow pierced. While glancing through the designs, I overhear the young girls behind us filling out their paperwork. The girl getting the tattoo (who claimed to be 18 but appeared to be 7) needed help with one of the questions. "Have you ever tested positive for HIV?" Pretty straightforward, or so you would think. She called one of the employees over for help.
Girl: "What does this mean?"
Employee: "Have you ever tested positive for HIV? Have you ever been tested?"
Girl: "I don't know! Like, what is it?"

At this point, I was losing it. It only gets better though. After that confusion was put to rest, this girl caught a glimpse of my mother's tattoo design. A simple infinity symbol, soon to be modified. "What is that," she asks. I'm pretty sure I made a fairly obvious face (as if I make any other kind) and made a loud disapproving sounds. When the guy tried to explain... it was almost painful to listen to.

Sometimes I wonder what kids do in school anymore.....
